Wee snippets of the day

It's been a very hot and sticky day today.

I decided not to take my camera this morning and as luck would have it a  man sitting on an elephant passed us and then we pass the only sweet smelling street in the whole of Madurai I think , the fruit stalls and we got stopped outside the banana stall ...no camera so that will have to wait till another day so I took these instead

The next blog is the  pongal festival blog coming soon! but this evening after my homemade pizza ! I was invited outside to the street to watch people decorating their drives , ground down dyed rice flower is used 

This is the neighbours effort.

Anita's picture is the pot of rice that they allow to boil over as part of the festival ceremony.

I took some lovely pictures of that actually happening at the festival I went to at the weekend but unfortunately my memory card was full and they are saved to the camera so that will need to wait.

And this is everyone standing discussing what to draw next. At that point I decided to slip away I am up early in the morning but for others there is a 3 day holiday.

Oh before. I go I meant to mention that I bought some clothes that need altering so Anita took me to her tailor . He is attaching sleeves to my dress and taking it in a bit ... Cost 30p !!
